To provide an oil-in-water type emulsified cosmetic capable of imparting FRESH good feeling and permeating feeling and softening effect to the skin without feeling sliminess and having good stability with time.
SOLUTION: The oil-in-water type emulsified cosmetic is obtained by formulating (a) a polyoxyethylene fatty acid sorbitane in which the fatty acid part is derived from a 14-18C straight-chain saturated fatty acid with (b) one or more kinds of surfactants selected from an anionic surfactant and a nonionic surfactant having &ge 1.6 I.O.B value, (c) a 14-22C non-branched higher alcohol and as necessary, (d) one or more kinds of compounds selected from a glycerol monoalkyl ester, a glycerol monoalkyl ester, a sorbitane monoalkyl ester and sterols and a branched higher alcohol so that molar ratio of the component (a), the component (b), the component (c) satisfy the formula: (A)/(b) =1/0.1 to 1/1 and the formula: [(A) + (b)]/[(C) + (d)]=1/3 to 1/6, with the proviso that (c)/[(c) + (d)] is &ge 0.3.
