PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope system that allows a user to maintain his concentration when a notification that a region of interest has been detected is made in a case that one of a direct-viewing observation image or a side-viewing observation image is displayed on a display unit.SOLUTION: A direct-viewing observation image 100 is visible on a monitor 18, and a side-viewing observation image 102 is non-visible on the monitor 18. A region of interest is detected using the side-viewing observation image 102.
