A system (100) for delivering oxygen comprises: an oxygen source (102)； a ventilator (104) operatively connected to the oxygen source to receive a supply of oxygen therefrom； a valve (109) having a) an open position in which the ventilator receives the supply of oxygen from the oxygen source and b) a closed position in which the ventilator is not in fluid communication with the oxygen source； a sensor (112) configured to measure breath flow information for the patient； and a computer system (114) to: determine a volume of gas delivered to the patient during a breath cycle of the patient and an inspiratory volume of gas delivered to the patient during an inspiration phase of the breath cycle by using the breath flow information； and provide input to the valve based on the determined volumes, the provided input causing a movement of the valve between the open and the closed positions.La présente invention concerne un système (100) pour distribuer de l'oxygène comprenant : une source d'oxygène (102) ； un ventilateur (104) connecté de manière fonctionnelle à la source d'oxygène pour recevoir une alimentation en oxygène à partir de cette dernière ； une vanne (109) ayant a) une position ouverte dans laquelle le ventilateur reçoit l'alimentation en oxygène provenant de la source d'oxygène et b) une position fermée dans laquelle le ventilateur n'est pas en communication fluidique avec la source d'oxygène ； un capteur (112) conçu pour mesurer des informations de flux respiratoire pour le patient ； et un système informatique (114) pour : déterminer un volume de gaz administré au patient pendant un cycle respiratoire du patient et un volume inspiratoire de gaz administré au patient pendant une phase d'inspiration du cycle respiratoire à l'aide des informations de flux respiratoire ； et fournir une entrée à la vanne sur la base des volumes déterminés, l'entrée fournie provoquant un mouvement de la vanne entre les positions ouverte et fermée.
