A method is provided for imaging a portion of a patient that moves as a patient breathes. A motion map is produced of the portions motion during a breathing cycle of the patient. A scanning protocol is generated using information obtained from the motion map for a given source/detector position and a given point in the breathing cycle. The scanning protocol comprises at least one setting for at least one imaging apparatus component such that a desired amount of x-ray dosage is applied to the portion of the patient at the given source/detector position and the given point in the breathing cycle. An imaging scan is performed of the portion of the patient. The at least one imaging apparatus component is adjusted during the imaging scan.La présente invention concerne un procédé destiné à imager une partie dun patient, qui se déplace lorsque le patient respire. Une carte de mouvement est produite pour le mouvement de ladite partie durant un cycle respiratoire du patient. Un protocole de numérisation est produit au moyen dinformations obtenues à partir de la carte de mouvement pour une position de source/de détecteur donnée et un point donné dans le cycle respiratoire. Le protocole de numérisation comprend au moins un réglage pour au moins un composant dappareil dimagerie, de telle sorte quune quantité désirée de dose de rayons X soit appliquée à la partie du patient à la position de source/détecteur donnée et au point donné dans le cycle respiratoire. Une numérisation dimagerie de la partie du patient est réalisée. Le ou les composants dappareil sont réglés durant la numérisation dimagerie.
