PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a daily-usable, stable and safe composition for inhibiting IL-8 expression, and to develop a skin care external preparation, a pharmaceutical composition and a food composition, each containing the inhibitory composition.SOLUTION: The composition for inhibiting IL-8 expression contains one or two or more kinds of compounds selected from a group consisting of D-methionine, a derivative thereof and/or a salt thereof. The composition may be a skin care external preparation, a pharmaceutical composition for treating and/or preventing skin diseases, or a food composition.
