PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PET detection part which detects gamma beams generated from a subject while increasing the degree of freedom of the position of entry or the direction of irradiation of particle beams.

SOLUTION: A particle beam irradiation part 103 irradiates the subject placed on a top plate 110 with particle beams. Then the PET detection part 201 detects the gamma beams generated from the subject by detection elements. Also, the top plate 110 and the PET detection part 201 move in response to irradiation. Accordingly, a correction coefficient calculation part 300 calculates the coordinate indicating the relative positional relationship between the origin of an attenuation map and the detecting elements of the PET detection part 201 using the amount of movement of the top plate 110 and the PET detection part 201, and calculates the absorption correction coefficient using the calculated coordinate. An image generation part 202 generates images using the gamma beams detected by the PET detection part 201 and the absorption correction coefficient calculated by the correction coefficient calculation part 300.
