PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope apparatus capable of increasing the degree of freedom for bending of the scope.SOLUTION: Inside a video scope 10, artificial muscles 42 extending from a tip 10P to an operation section 10S are disposed along a scope peripheral edge portion at an equal interval. When a joystick 12 is operated, the artificial muscle corresponding to the bending direction input is contracted by an electric conduction for allowing a bending section 10Q to bend in such direction.
