PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a critical current measuring method of a high-temperature superconducting wire material capable of measuring the critical current of a long wire in the state of being wound on a reel with high precision, and a winding structure of a superconducting wire material suitable for the method. SOLUTION: Two superconductive wires are gone along each other with the superconducting wires insulated. One end sides of the superconductive wires are electrically connected, and the superconducting wires are wound in the shape of the coil. The critical current is measured by energizing from the other end side of the superconducting wires and measuring the voltage. Since the current direction of every superconducting wire material is in a reverse direction to each other and the magnetic field is denied, the current value is not decreased by the magnetic field and low field characteristics can be obtained without applying magnetic field. Therefore, a wire material for a coil of a permanent current mode which can not be measured by a conventional method can be evaluated. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
