PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary tilling machine embodying a rear cover lifting device that facilitates lifting a rear cover with a simple structure only using wire and further only by turning and operating an existing tilling depth handle, and furthermore can be lifted lightly and operated, and also facilitates receiving and maintaining the wire when the wire is not used.SOLUTION: A rotary tilling machine of the present invention is configured such that a liftable slide hitch lifted by the turning operation of a tilling depth handle through a lifting screw is disengageably interlocked with a rear cover provided at the rear end of a tilling cover in a vertically turnable manner by using wire, and interlocked and structured in order to lift the rear cover forcibly by the lifting operation of the slide hitch using the tilling depth handle.
