An imaging system configured to generate video streams of a moving target 200, such as a horse or equine, in a predefined area 100 comprises a plurality of image capture devices 21-26, such as cameras, which capture respective video streams. First and second movable cameras 21,22 capture video streams of the target in a first direction. Third and fourth movable cameras 23,24 capture video streams of the target from second and third directions that are opposite to each other and perpendicular to the first direction. A fifth 26 stationary camera captures a video stream of the target from a fourth direction that is perpendicular to the first, second, and third directions. The movable cameras are moved along with the target in the predefined area by a controller. A sixth camera 25 may capture a video stream of the target from a fifth direction that is opposite the first direction. The movable cameras may comprise driving elements to move them along a track 90, and sensors to detect distance to the target, which is maintained by the controller. The system may be used to more quickly and accurately detect lameness or gait abnormalities in horses by providing clear and continuous recordings of horses in motion.
