A snare for use with an endoscope. The snare comprising a support assembly having a base and an elongated hollow tube, a transmitting assembly having a handle movable relative to the base and a link having a first end fixed to the handle and a second end remote from the base, the link extending substantially through a length of the tube, and a loop formed by a piece of wire and attached to the link. The loop is movable between an open position and a closed position by action of the handle relative to the base. The shape of the loop is defined in the open position by a proximal portion, a distal portion, and a transitional portion separating the proximal and the distal portions. The piece of wire is twisted by at least 45 degrees in the transitional portion on at least one side of the loop.La présente invention concerne un outil d'ablation tissulaire utilisable avec un endoscope.
