An anatomical orientation system comprising one or both of a physical surgical drape or a virtual surgical drape is disclosed. Physical and virtual drapes of the provided system comprise at least one anatomical diagram correlating with the anatomy of at least a portion of a patients body requiring a surgical procedure. A drape of the provided system is adapted to be placed over, or projected onto, at least a portion of a patients body where a surgical procedure will be performed.
