The atomizer has two bodies comprising a connector (31), where one of the connectors is provided for connecting the atomizer to a respirator (100) and the connector (31) is provided for connecting the atomizer to a line (103) that is guided to a patient. The bodies form a flow channel from one of the connectors to the connector (31). An atomizing device i.e. aerosol generator, is provided for atomizing a fluid. The atomizing device is arranged between the connectors in the channel such that the fluid is atomized parallel in a flow direction from one of the connectors to the connector (31). An independent claim is also included for a breathing machine comprising a respirator.
