PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable work machine which can suppress vibration transmitted to an operator excellently, and has a high attenuation effect.SOLUTION: A bush cutter as a portable work machine comprises a vibration-proof grip (10) mounted to grip mounting parts (4A)(4B). A vibration model of the vibration-proof grip (10) is constituted as a vibration system with two degrees of freedom, which comprises a first damper, a first mass, a second damper, and a second mass. In the vibration-proof grip (10) which substantiates the vibration model, the first damper and the second damper are formed at a first extension part (11) and a second extension part (12) respectively, and the first mass and the second mass are formed at a first mass formation part (14) and a second mass formation part (15) respectively.
