PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roof greening system and a roof greening method each facilitated in maintenance and management of plants set up on a roof. SOLUTION: The roof greening system 1 includes a climbing plant 2, a cultivation tank 3 cultivating the climbing plant 2 by hydroponics, and a liquid fertilizer supply device 4 circularly supplying liquid fertilizer to the cultivation tank 3: wherein the cultivation tank 3 is set up so that the climbing plant 2 covers at least part of the surface of a roof 5 of a construction. The roof 5 includes a climbing plant supporting member 6 having a lattice part 61 at its surface, so that the climbing plant 2 preferably covers at least part of the surface of the roof 5 via the climbing plant supporting member 6.
