PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus in which a reception path can be switched during scanning to reduce misregistration of an image.SOLUTION: A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus 100 includes: a radio frequency magnetic field radiation unit for radiating a radio frequency magnetic field to a subject placed in a static magnetic field a first coil and a second coil for detecting a nuclear magnetic resonance signal emitted from the subject due to the radio frequency magnetic field radiated from the radio frequency magnetic field radiation unit and a switching unit for alternately switching between data collection from the first coil and data collection from the second coil during pre-scanning for collecting sensitivity distribution information.
