The surgical instrument also comprises a control circuit in communication with the tissue thickness module. L'instrument chirurgical (10) comporte aussi un circuit de commande (100) en communication avec le module d'épaisseur de tissu (60). Le circuit de commande (100) empêche l'actionnement d'une partie active de l'effecteur terminal (12) quand l'épaisseur du tissu clampé dans l'effecteur terminal (12) ne se situe pas à l'intérieur de la plage d'épaisseurs spécifiée.
