PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the vicinity of the tip of a surgical cable made of a multifilament cable difficult to come apart even if repeatedly gripped such that it is pinched by tweezers or a forceps.SOLUTION: A surgical cable 10 has: a cable body part 10A formed by twining or knitting a plurality of element wires 12 and a taper-like end part 10B formed in a tapered taper shape as a whole by welding the element wires 12. The surgical cable 10 is formed with a tip vicinity part 10C between the cable body part 10A and the taper-like end part 10B, in which at least the element wires 12 of a cable outer circumferential part are stuck to each other by face-to-face contact to reduce a diameter as a whole.
