PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope for realizing the small diameter of an insertion part.SOLUTION: An endoscope is characterized by comprising: a sold-state image sensor having a receiver and an element terminal on one face a hard substrate mounted on the opposite side of the one face of the solid-state image sensor and formed with a notched part in its surface a flexible substrate connected at the tip with the element terminal and having a face confronting the notched part a first cable connected with the face, which confronts the notched part, of the flexible substrate and a second cable connected with the notched part.
