PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reviving the environment which decomposes pollutants and reduces CO2in the atmosphere. SOLUTION: The method for reviving the environment comprises the steps of (1) placing a mixture of a host material for microorganisms with a group of bacteria including an anaerobic bacteria containing photosynthesis bacteria and fermentative bacteria and aerobic bacteria of complementary relationship to the anaerobic bacteria as for nutrition and respiration and a pollutant-containing material to be treated, in soil in its groove part, (2) covering the mixture with soil, and (3) accelerating the decomposition of pollutants by the anaerobic bacteria and the photosynthesis by activation of the group of the bacteria through irradiation of the mixture with an electromagnetic wave.
