PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-calorie rice-like food whose texture is similar to that of rice and which dissolves as little as possible in boiling rice, and a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: The rice-like food contains agar and alginic acid or its salt as main ingredients, and is molded in the shape of rice. The rice-like food is obtained by drying a gel with these ingredients as main ingredients.
