A method and an apparatus for rehabilitation of a patient that provides a performance target (3438) to the patient, senses a performance indicator (3424) corresponding to the performance target (3438), then analyses (3432, 3444) a difference between the performance target (3438) and the performance indicator (3424). The performance target may then be revised (3440) in response to the analysis. The invention may also provide visual feedback, verbal feedback and/or other encouragement strategies for the patient to work towards achieving target(s). In addition the invention may also provide positive recognition to a patient so that they recognise and reward their achievements to their rehabilitation. Furthermore the invention may also initiate a clinical decision tool (3440) review of pain control and / or use of psychological coping strategies by the patient.La présente invention concerne un procédé et un appareil pour la rééducation d'un patient qui fournit un objectif de performance (3438) au patient, détecte un indicateur de performance (3424) correspondant à l'objectif de performance (3438), puis analyse (3432, 3444) une différence entre la cible de performance (3438) et l'indicateur de performance (3424).
