The present invention relates to a composition for improving liver function and a preparation method thereof and, more specifically, to a composition for improving liver function including a Korean green tea extract as an effective ingredient and a preparation method thereof. A Korean green tea extract has a leaf area of 3.0 to 7.9 cm, a leaf width of 1.0 to 3.7 cm, and a leaf thickness of 0.1 to 0.2 cm. The Korean green tea extract is produced by using Korean green tea, which is thick green tea leaf of second flush. The Korean green tea extract, which is an active ingredient, of the present invention has excellent antioxidant effect and catechin content, but also has excellent alcohol degrading enzyme activity and aldehyde degrading enzyme activity, thereby exhibiting effects of improving hangover, liver protection, and fatigue recovery through liver function improvement.본 발명은 간 기능 개선용 조성물 및 이의 제조방법에 관한 것으로, 보다 상세하게는 참녹 추출물을 유효성분으로 포함하는 간 기능 개선용 조성물 및 이의 제조방법으로서, 상기 참녹 추출물은 엽장 3.0-7.9 cm, 엽폭 1.0-3.7 cm, 엽두께 0.1-0.2 cm이고, 녹색이 짙은 두물찻잎인 참녹을 사용하여 제조되는 것을 본 발명의 기술적 특징으로 한다. 본 발명의 유효성분인 참녹 추출물은 항산화효과, 및 카테킨 함량이 우수할 뿐만 아니라, 알코올 분해효소 활성능 및 알데하이드 분해효소 활성능이 우수하여, 본 발명은 간 기능 개선을 통한 숙취 개선, 간장 보호 및 피로 회복 등의 효과를 나타낼 수 있다.
