The present invention relates to a composition for preventing or treating diseases related to female hormone deficiency containing a Gentiana lutea extract or a compound isolated therefrom as an active component. In an embodiment of the present invention, the Gentiana lutea extract and the compound promote estradiol secretion of cells, and especially an effect of the compound is superior to the Gentiana lutea extract. Therefore, the Gentiana lutea extract or the compound isolated therefrom can be usefully used as a pharmaceutical composition or a health functional food composition for preventing, alleviating, or treating female hormone deficiency diseases, especially diseases such as estrogen deficiency.본 발명은 겐티아나 루테아 추출물 또는 이로부터 분리된 화합물을 유효성분으로 포함하는 여성 호르몬 결핍 관련 질환 예방 또는 치료용 조성물에 관한 것으로, 본 발명의 일 실시예에서, 상기 겐티아나 루테아 추출물 및 화합물이 세포의 에스트라디올 분비를 촉진시켰으며, 특히 상기 화합물의 효과는 겐티아나 루테아 추출물보다도 우수하였던 바, 겐티아나 루테아 추출물 또는 이로부터 분리된 화합물을 포함하는 조성물은 여성호르몬 결핍 질환, 특히 에스트로겐 결핍증과 같은 질환의 예방, 개선 또는 치료를 위한 약학 조성물 내지 건강기능식품 조성물로서 유용하게 활용될 수 있다.
