The present invention relates to the use of deferiprone to cosmetically treat a healthy area of skin of an individual, comprising the application of a composition containing deferiprone to the area of skin, in particular in order to fight signs of skin aging ("anti-aging"), and in order to increase the elasticity and firmness of the skin. The invention further relates to a composition suitable for said use, comprising deferiprone in a concentration (w/w) of 0.25%-12%.
