An ultrasound needle positioning system includes an ultrasound probe and a processor. The ultrasound probe is used for capturing a plurality of sets of needle images. Each set of needle images includes a plurality of needle images corresponding to a predefined angle of insertion of a needle. The processor is coupled to the ultrasound probe for training a first convolutional neural network according to at least one set of needle images of the plurality of sets of needle images, so as to generate needle position information after the needle is inserted.
