The invention relates to medicine and pharmacology, more particularly to a pharmaceutical composition in the form of vaginal suppositories for treating candidal vaginitis and vulvovaginitis, containing antimycotics and prebiotics. The contents of the composition for therapeutic use make it possible to achieve the synergistic effect of stimulating the growth of the normal vaginal microflora through the presence of prebiotics and inhibiting the growth and eliminating pathogenic Candida fungi through the presence of modem antimycotics. Furthermore, the composition substantially contains such antimycotics to which representatives of the normal flora, i.e. lactobacilli and bifidobacteria, are insensitive. The method for treating mycetogenous or bacterial vaginosis, vaginitis and vulvovaginitis is carried out with the aid of the antimycotic and prebiotic pharmaceutical composition in a medicinal form for local application.
