The invention relates to medicine and pharmacology, more particularly to a pharmaceutical composition in the form of vaginal suppositories for treating and preventing candidal vaginitis and vulvovaginitis, containing a mixture of at least one antimycotic from the group of polyene antibiotics or nitrofurans and prebiotic - lactulose with polymerization degree from 2 to 30, with the following concentration of the components weight/volume per composition mass: antimycotic from the group of polyene antibiotics or nitrofurans - 0.0001 to 5%, lactulose - 0.1 to 40.0%, excipients - the rest. The contents of the composition for therapeutic use make it possible to achieve the synergistic effect of stimulating the growth of the normal vaginal microflora through the presence of prebiotics and inhibiting the growth of and eliminating pathogenic Candida fungi through the presence of modern antimycotics. Furthermore, the composition substantially contains such antimycotics to which representatives of the normal flora, i.e. lactobacilli and bifidobacteria, are insensitive.
