PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bitter taste inhibitor effective to suppress the bitter taste of a composition having bitter taste.SOLUTION: This bitter taste inhibitor contains, as the active ingredient, whey peptide having an average molecular weight of 550-5,000. A drink which contains 0.05-0.8 mass% of bitter component (A) and the bitter taste inhibitor (B) is also provided. The bitter taste inhibitor is usable in fields of food and drink, drug medicine, and quasi drug owing to excellent aqueous solubility and high safety.
