PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel external composition which can suppress the smell of the head effectively.SOLUTION: The invention prepares an external composition for suppressing the smell of the head using at least one kind selected from the group consisting of hydrolysis collagen with a number average molecular weight of 1500 or less and a salt thereof, substantially without a silicone compound. The external composition for suppressing the smell of the head of the invention can suppress adsorption of a smell component to the hair effectively.
