Cryosurgery is a minimally invasive treatment used to destroy diseased tissue by employing freezing-thawing cycle using an apparatus known as cryoprobe. The present invention relates to cryosurgical device or cryogenic pen probe used to carry out cryo-operations. It is a closed system with a continuous circulation of cryogen and it can be used to treat both surface and deep tumour. The construction of this cryosurgical apparatus - cryogenic pen probe has fine precision machining process and a high vacuum insulation, maintained by a novel vacuum plug. Embodiment of the present invention provides a slender cryogenic probe containing replaceable tips and can generate relatively large volume of an iceball. This replaceable cryogenic probe tip is cooled by a cryogen in a fluid state and joined at proximal end of outer shaft.
