The kit used in the cryoablation procedure comprises a cryoablation catheter having a cryoballoon positioned around its distal region. The pressure sensor is located on the distal side of the refrigeration balloon. A catheter may be introduced into the patient's left atrium and the cryo-balloon may be inflated. The cryo-balloon can then be advanced into contact with the walls of the pulmonary veins to occlude the pulmonary veins. Obstruction can be confirmed by measuring the pressure in the pulmonary vein.
