This invention is directed to a method for preventing, treating or ameliorating substance-related disorders, in a subject in need thereof comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of a compound selected from: Formula (I), or Formula (II) or pharmaceutically acceptable forms thereof, wherein phenyl is substituted at X with one to five halogen atoms selected from the group consisting of fluorine, chlorine, bromine and iodine; and, R<;SUB>;1<;/SUB>;, R<;SUB>;2<;/SUB>;, R<;SUB>;3<;/SUB>;, R<;SUB>;4<;/SUB>;, R<;SUB>;5<;/SUB>; and R<;SUB>;6<;/SUB>; are independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and C<;SUB>;1<;/SUB>;-C<;SUB>;4<;/SUB>; alkyl; wherein C<;SUB>;1<;/SUB>;-C<;SUB>;4<;/SUB>; alkyl is optionally substituted with phenyl (and, wherein phenyl is optionally substituted with substituents independently selected from the group consisting of halogen, C<;SUB>;1<;/SUB>;-C<;SUB>;4<;/SUB>; alkyl, C<;SUB>;1<;/SUB>; C<;SUB>;4<;/SUB>; alkoxy, amino, nitro and cyano). In addition, methods are included involving co-administration of compounds of the invention with one or more compounds known to treat substance-induced disorders.
