This interior material has a surface layer containing i) titanium oxide particles and ii) alloy particles containing an antimicrobial metal. The antimicrobial metal contained in the alloy particles ii) containing the antimicrobial metal is one metal selected from the group consisting of silver, copper, and zinc. This interior material production method comprises the step of applying a dispersion containing i) titanium oxide particles and ii) alloy particles containing an antimicrobial metal to the surface of an interior material.
