PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition and a method for extending lifespan and delaying onset of age-related disease.SOLUTION: The invention provides a composition selected from the group consisting of oxaloacetate, oxaloacetic acid, oxaloacetate salt, &alpha；-ketoglutarate, and aspartate, and a method using an effective doses for extending lifespan. The composition is preferred to be an oral administration, a local administration, and a parenteral administration.
