PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for satisfactorily acquiring a value necessary for obtaining a light quantity distribution inside a subject in photoacoustic tomography.SOLUTION: A subject information acquisition device includes an element 202 for receiving an acoustic wave generated when light is irradiated to a subject 204, and outputting an electric signal, and an information acquisition part 208 for acquiring characteristic information inside the subject using the electric signal.
