PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical measurement method by which a distribution of an absorptive scattering substance in a sample can be obtained with high accuracy.SOLUTION: The optical measurement method includes: (1) a data acquisition step of detecting reflected light, which is induced in a sample containing a plurality of absorptive scattering substances when the sample is irradiated with light or light is made to propagate in the sample, as a function of time or wavelength so as to acquire a relationship between a reflected light quantity and a reflection position in the sample at a plurality of time zones or wavelength ranges and (2) a data process step of obtaining each distribution of the plurality of absorptive scattering substances based on the relationship between the reflected light quantity and the reflection position in the sample at the plurality of time zones or wavelength ranges acquired in the data acquisition step.
