PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of ink consumption without deteriorating image clearness. SOLUTION: The apparatus comprises a still picture photographing camera 14 for photographing a subject, a controller 19 for restoring images photographed by the camera 14, and a printer 24 for printing the images restored in the controller 19 with ink. The printer 24 has a mask recognizing means for recognizing a mask image being an unwanted region in the image and an image conversion means for converting the mask image to an image to reduce ink consumption based on the output of the mask recognition means.
