PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of ink consumption without deteriorating image clearness.SOLUTION: An image recording apparatus includes: a still picture photographing camera 14 for photographing a subject a controller 19 for storing an image photographed by the camera 14 and a printer 24 for printing the image stored in the controller 19 with ink. The printer 24 has a mask recognizer for recognizing a mask image that is an unwanted region in the image, and an image converter for converting the mask image, based on the output of the mask recognizer, to such an image that can reduce ink consumption.
