A truncated dome or ground surface indicator for use as tactile paving is described. The dome comprises a head (5) or flange with an opening and a frustoconical or dish shape, and a stem (10), shaft, bolt or rod. The stem and head are connected or interlocked by plastic deformation using stamping or pressing (see top right figure) and the head is machined to create at ribbed or corrugated profile on the head (see bottom left figure).
