PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple application method of pearl foil pigment to a surface in which, an existing application range is expanded in cost effectiveness, visual inspection impression of a surface and practical utility, the method capable of being applied to a surface, especially surface of a food product.SOLUTION: There is provided the application method comprising: (i) mixing an effect pigment with a pasty, transparent aqueous material； (ii) and applying the application medium prepared in the step (i) to a surface, coloring is performed to a surface by an effect pigment formed of a flake-state matrix, a pearl foil pigment preferably, especially to a surface of a food product.【課題】表面、特に食品の表面に適用でき、同時にコスト有効性、表面の目視印象及び実用性に関して既存の適用方法の範囲を広くする表面への真珠箔顔料の簡単な適用方法を提供することにある。【解決手段】(i)効果顔料をペースト状の、透明な、水性材料に混入し、(ii)工程(i)で調製された適用媒体を表面に適用することを特徴とする、フレーク形態の基質をベースとする効果顔料、好ましくは真珠箔顔料による表面、特に食品の表面の着色方法に関する。
