The present disclosure relates to methods for growing genetically modified strawberry plants (eg, plug seedlings) with reduced activity of the endogenous TERMINAL FLOWER (TFL) gene. The genetically modified strawberry plant is of the genus Fragaria. Genetically modified strawberry plants with reduced TFL1 activity are grown in nurseries located in any of the lowland, highland, north and south latitudes, or in controlled environmental facilities. The yield of strawberry fruits of genetically modified strawberry plants with reduced TFL1 activity is higher than conventionally grown plug seedlings.
