A device comprising: a) a proximal portion configured to be placed inside a body cavity to trap and discharge the contents of said body cavity; wherein at least the proximal part is configured to expand from the initial state in which it has the initial diameter, for introducing the proximal part into the body cavity in an expanded state in which its diameter is larger than the initial diameter, for engagement with the tissues of the body cavity; ib) the distal part connected to the proximal part and configured to pass through the stoma in the wall of the body cavity to remove the contents of the body cavity from the proximal part. 2. The device according to claim 1, in which the distal part and the proximal part contain at least one layer of barrier material.
