An ecological floating island apparatus is capable of floating on a liquid surface and includes a bracket unit and a plant cultivating unit. The bracket unit includes a base and a ring seat extending upwards from a peripheral edge of the base. The base is matched with the ring seat to define an accommodating space. The accommodating space has a bottom adjacent to the base and a top portion. The bracket unit further includes a partitioning member which is located at the bottom of the accommodating space and matched with at least one of the base and the ring seat to define a buoyancy chamber. A plurality of main drain holes penetrate through the base and are located around the buoyancy chamber. The plant cultivating unit is housed at the top portion of the accommodating space of the bracket unit. A design with the accommodating space of this invention enables a woody plant planted in the plant cultivating unit to grow.
