Pharmaceutical formulations for delivering decitabine to a patient suffering from a disease in need of treatment with decitabine, containers and kits are provided. Glycerin, propylene glycol, polyethylene glycol, or the pharmaceutical formulation comprises decitabine solvated in non-aqueous solvents, including combinations thereof. The formulation is chemically stable over the liquid preparations conventional decitabine containing water in excess of 40% by volume.
