PURPOSE: A method for growing a novel paternal line(restorer, C line) by introducing cytoplasm-genetic male sterility(CGMS) into paprika(Capsicum annuum L.) is provided to save time, labor, and costs for growing the novel paternal line. CONSTITUTION: A method for growing a novel paternal line(restorer, C line) comprises: a step of analyzing a phenotype of offspring hybridized with CGMS S(rfrf) to select stable restorer S(RfRf); and a step of confirming the stability of male sterility. A method for growing novel paternal line(restorer, C lines) additionally comprises: a step of selecting a stable restorer candidate individual; and a step of selecting a candidate individual using a CAPS marker.
