PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage treatment method by which garbage generated in general homes, food factories, retail shops and the like can be efficiently liquefied, and can be used as fuel and also as fertilizer.SOLUTION: The garbage treatment method is provided that comprises: an aerobic treatment step 1 in which a carrier carrying aerobic microbe, and garbage are mixed while continuously or intermittently supplying water in an aerobic treatment container to decompose the garbage; a step 2 of collecting aqueous solution containing decomposed products obtained in the step 1; an anaerobic treatment step 3 in which the aqueous solution collected in the step 2 and anaerobic microbe are mixed in the anaerobic treatment container, thereby the decomposed products included in the aqueous solution is subjected to methane fermentation; a step 4 of taking out methane generated in the step 3; and a step 5 of taking out liquid after generation of the methane in the step 4.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
