PURPOSE:To obtain a solubilized evening primrose oil having improved stability, by solubilizing an evening primrose oil in water with a saponin. CONSTITUTION:A solubilized evening primrose which is obtained by solubilizing an evening primrose oil in water by the use of a saponin. A saponin-containing essence obtained from any of various kinds of plants containing saponin such as bark of Quilaya saponaria, pericap of Sapinclus mukurossi, root of Saponaria officinalis L., fruit of Thea sinensis L., etc., may be used as the saponin, and a purified saponin obtained by treating the essence with active carbon, adsorption resin, etc. is preferable since it has low coloring. To produce the solubilized evening primrose oil, usually 0.1-20wt% aqueous solution of a saponin in an amount to give 0.5-5 times as much as an evening primrose to be solubilized is used, and dropped to the evening primrose oil while stirring. In this case, a surface active agent except a saponin, a stabilizer, etc., may be added to the aqueous solution of the saponin so long as the additives will not inhibit its solubilizing action.
