PURPOSE: A prevention or treatment composition for diabetic complication including sedum sarmentosum bunge extracts is provided to be usefully used as pharmaceutical composition for prevention and treatment of the diabetic complication and a health food by suppressing activity of aldose reductase. The Sedum sarmentosum Bunge extracts has the aldose reductase inhibitory activity. The diabetic complication disease is artery scleroma, hypertension, intracerbroventricular infarction, stroke, myocardial infarction, angina, nephropathy, neuropathy, diabetic retinopathy, cataract, or glaucoma. A prevention and for treating health food of the diabetic complication includes the Sedum sarmentosum Bunge extracts as an active ingredient. The Sedum sarmentosum Bunge extract can be obtained by extracting and vacuum evaporating alcohol, ethyl acetate, chloroform, methyl ethyl ketone, acetone, methylene chloride, or ether solvent.본 발명은 본 발명은 돌나물 (Sedumsarmentosum) 추출물을 유효성분으로 포함하는 조성물에 관한 것으로서, 구체적으로 본 발명의 돌나물 추출물은 알도즈 환원효소 (aldose reductase) 활성을 억제시켜 당뇨성 합병증의 예방 및 치료를 위한 약학 조성물 또는 건강기능식품으로 유용하게 이용될 수 있다.
