PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide growth hormone compounds with improved pharmacological properties, such as prolonged half-life, to solve such problems that, since human growth hormone and closely related variants thereof, which are used to treat a variety of diseases associated with growth hormone deficiency, are polypeptides, the growth hormone is administered parenterally, i.e., by means of a needle, and relatively short half-life of growth hormone necessitates frequent administration thereof, which causes pain and inconvenience for the patient.SOLUTION: The invention relates to growth hormone compounds having a prolonged profile. The effect is obtained by linking an albumin binding residue to a growth hormone variant via a hydrophilic spacer. Further described are methods for preparing and using such compounds.
